Location
The Heidi Chalets are located in Carinthia at Lake Falkert, in the Nockberge region between Bad Kleinkirchheim and Turracher Höhe at an altitude of 1,850m above sea level. A provincial mountain road takes you from the valley (between Wiedweg and Ebene Reichenau at 1,000m) up to the village of Falkertsee at 1,850m. Due to the altitude, we recommend carrying snow chains for safety from November to May.

Arrival by Car
From Germany, Switzerland and Western Austria: Take the A10 Tauern motorway to the exit Spittal am Millstätter See (note: the exit is on the left-hand side of the motorway). Continue via Seeboden – Döbriach – Radenthein – Bad Kleinkirchheim – Wiedweg – Patergassen in the direction of Ebene Reichenau until you see the turn-off to Lake Falkert on the left (by the large Heidi figure on the left-hand side). Once you reach the top, turn right at the sign “Kärntnerhaus”. Directly after the Kärntnerhaus, the road bends left uphill; after approx. 200m you will find our Heidi Chalets on both the left- and right-hand side of the road (easily recognisable by an information board). The mountain road over the Turracher Höhe is only recommended as a scenic route or for motorbike tours. From the east we recommend taking the southern motorway or travelling via Judenburg, Murau and over the Turracher Höhe.
Arrival by Train
The nearest railway station is Spittal-Millstätter See (45km). From there you can hire a car, take a bus or taxi, or arrange to be picked up.
Arrival by Plane
The airports of Klagenfurt (60km), Ljubljana (130km), Salzburg (180km), Graz (185km) and Munich (350km) are all well connected by motorway, so hiring a car for onward travel is recommended.
