Falkert lies directly on the core zone of the Nockberge Biosphere Park. The Nockberge mountains in Carinthia form an idyllic hiking region with mostly easy trails, making it ideal for family holidays with children. Lake Falkert – Pure Relaxation
Just a few hundred metres from the Heidi Chalets, several lakes await you: Lake Falkert, the Heidialm fishing pond (part of the Heidialm Mountain Resort) and the Quellsee in the Sunday Valley, which feeds the other two with its clear, refreshing mountain stream. Around Lake Falkert you will find several cosy alpine huts and a lakeside beer garden. For those who prefer a more private experience, there are idyllic picnic spots right by the lake or at the spring in the Sunday Valley. Enjoy the tranquillity and the unique atmosphere.

Based on the well-known Heidi story, this 3-hectare park brings the tale to life for young and old alike with over 100 figures. The family-friendly hiking trail through the adventure park at 1,875m altitude offers something for everyone: fresh air and unique stone pine forests for adults to relax in, and plenty of excitement for children with marmots to spot and fantastic play areas to explore – including a large wooden playground with an activity course, a giant slide and, of course, the Heidialm fishing pond, where guided fishing sessions with equipment are available at fair rates.

Carinthia is a popular destination for cyclists, and the Nockberge mountains are a true paradise for mountain bikers. Freeride tours, including summit climbs on natural trails above 2,000m, offer a unique experience. From the Kaiserburg cable car’s top station down into the valley runs Europe’s longest trail, about 15km in length with nearly 1,000m of elevation difference. The 1,000m² bike park at the Kaiserburg valley station, featuring a practice course, pump track and beginner flow trails, also invites you to test your skills and have fun.

There’s something for everyone: introductory riding for beginners, independent riding in a fenced area, children’s rides and guided pony walks across the alpine meadows, as well as accompanied rides for advanced riders.
